Inspire Black boys to read for fun each and every month - when Black boys access our programming in barbershops or online, their world expands dnd dreams soar, all thanks to our dedicated monthly supporters.
Join The Circle of Reading Inspirers, our monthly giving community, and together, let's create a future filled with children who love reading and enjoy learning.
Barbershop Books envisions a future where all children identify as readers and enjoy learning!
Our mission is to inspire Black boys and other vulnerable children to read for fun through child-centered, culturally responsive, and community-based programming and content.
Our programming is in over 20 states and 57 cities, spreading Black boys' access to literacy nationwide.
Help us add an additional 200 new barbershop partners, expand our E-Library to include more diverse children's books, and build a social and emotional learning-based reading identity exploration and assessment platform for pre-K-5.
Collectively, these efforts will reach more than 15,000 Black boys!
